The organization
Faith,
carried forward.
People, places and practical care.
A shared intention, put into motion.
A moment of togetherness
From the selected hero film
A faith that
moves us to care.
The name holds our intention: to live this life with the next in mind. Faith gives direction to what we create, the relationships we build and the care we offer.
Hereafter is a proposed nonprofit growing from Mustafa’s vision. Its work would bring art, cultural storytelling and practical support together, beginning primarily within Muslim communities.
We want to connect the people who recognize a need with those who can help—and build the relationships that allow that care to continue.
Within existing spaces
Begin where
people belong.
We plan to incubate Hereafter’s initiatives in the places where community already gathers: masjids, community organizations, galleries and cultural venues.
With local partners, these spaces would bring people, ideas and practical support together around a need the community identifies. Each place brings its own relationships, knowledge and ways of caring.
- Faith & community
- Masjids, grassroots groups and community organizations bring trusted relationships, knowledge of local needs and existing services.
- Culture & creativity
- Artists, poets, galleries and cultural venues bring places to gather, shared memories and opportunities to create.
- Local connections
- Trusted city liaisons help connect those spaces with creators, community leaders and people who can support the work.
How an initiative takes shape
Listen first.
Build together.
Our proposed approach begins with local knowledge and an agreed form of support. The work grows from there.
Understand the need.
Local liaisons, community partners and creators help identify people, existing efforts and opportunities where support could be useful.
Agree on the work.
Bring the right people and resources around a specific initiative: direct support, a gathering, an arts project or a creative opportunity. Agree who it serves, what is needed and who will take part.
Make something useful happen.
Carry out the initiative with local partners and learn from the benefit people receive. Support can happen quietly; a person’s participation in a story is never the purpose of the care.
Share with care.
Where sharing is appropriate, Hereafter’s films and independent creator voices can tell the story. Mustafa’s platform and aligned audiences can help others discover the work and take part.
Bring it back to the community.
Turn new relationships into agreed support. Carry resources and learning into the next initiative, building the capacity to keep showing up.
So the work
can continue.
What begins as a local initiative can reach others through careful storytelling. New participation and agreed support help sustain the work—and return resources and learning to the community.

A possible first chapter
Los Angeles.
Los Angeles is the proposed starting point, building on existing community and creator relationships. The plan is to begin with local partners, a shared space and an agreed initiative.
What we learn would inform the next chapter. As the work grows into other U.S. communities, each city would shape its own programming around its people, institutions and culture.
